Minnesota State Unemployment Insurance: Agent Authorization

  1. Login to your Minnesota e-Services account via their website: https://www1.uimn.org/ui_employer/employer/login.do. If you don’t have login credentials, you will need to either utilize the “Employer Registration”, “Returning Employer”, or “Forgot your Password?” function. Additionally, you can contact the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (Agency for Unemployment Insurance) by phone (651-296-6141), or by email (ui.mn@state.mn.us).

  1. Once you login successfully, you should see a screen that displays your company’s employer account number and business name. In the “Employer Home” table, click on “Account Maintenance”.

  1. Once you’re at the “Account Maintenance Home” page, click on “Agent Authorization”.

  1. Once you’re at the “Agent Authorization” page, click on the button labeled “New”, at the bottom of the page.

  1. Once you’ve clicked “New”, you should be at a page displaying “Assign Agent”. Navigate to the “Agent ID” field and enter “AG015364”. Then, click “Next”.

  1. Once you’ve clicked “Next”, you should be brought to a page with “Agent Details”, “Assigned Roles”, and “Available Roles”. In the first section, ensure that the “Effective Begin Date” is today’s date and leave the “Effective End Date” blank. Then, In the “Available Roles” table, click the checkbox next to “Account Maintenance View Only”, “Tax Payment Update and Submit”, and “Wage Detail Update and Submit” (total of 3 checkboxes). Then, click “Save”, at the bottom of the page.

  1. Once you’ve clicked “Save”, you should be brought to a page with the information you entered on the last page. Navigate to the “Assigned Roles” table and click on the “Assign Employer Reporting Units” link for “Account Maintenance View Only”. After you click the link, navigate to the “Select Employer Reporting Units” table and click the checkbox. Then, click “Save”, and then “Previous”. Complete this task for each role assigned to Namely (3 total).

 

***NOTE: To ensure that the above process is completed, after hitting “Previous” for the last role, the “Reporting Unit Number” should display “All reporting units assigned” for each role (3 total).

 

At this point, you’re all set! Please notify your Account Manager that this process have been completed. Then, Namely’s Tax Team will verify the Agent authorization.
